Social Media Academy for empowerment in dealing with racism and right-wing extremism


The Social Media Academy was founded as part of the project My Democracy – Social Media for Migrant Organisations in Dealing with Right-Wing Extremism and Racism. In our workshops, social media actors, migrant organisations and people with and without a migration history will learn important intervention tools and resources that will support them to be safe and proactive in dealing with anti-human content, racism and right-wing extremism on social media.

 

What we offer

– Regular training opportunities for all interested parties

Workshop topics/examples Ø  Hate speech, hostility and provocation. Strategies for dealing with online aggression and polarising content in social media – recognising racism online and developing strategies for action.

– Programme for volunteers and committed people on the net

Would you like to get involved on the net, gain new skills and inspire other people for more civil courage on the net as well? Take part in our programme for committed people online. Our programme is modular and covers a wide range of topics from several practice-oriented training courses. You will not only acquire new knowledge, but also new skills.

– Specific offers for administrators of digital spaces

Are you responsible for public relations in your organisation? Do you manage digital spaces for professional and/or private purposes? Do you have difficulties dealing with shitstorms and inflammatory discussions? Our specific offers for digital space managers can help you develop a more effective way of dealing with them.

– Needs-oriented training offers
