LaRA Plus – Assessment and Recognition of Foreign Qualifications

La Red ‘s project Anerkennungsberatung Plus (LaRA Plus), offers free recognition counselling for degrees acquired abroad. The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the European Union through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus) as part of the „Integration through Qualification (IQ)“ program.

You’ve acquired your professional qualification outside Germany and would like to continue practising your profession in Berlin? Then you have the option or obligation to apply for the recognition procedure of your foreign professional qualification.

Recognition improves your chances of finding a job that matches your qualifications.

Registration for recognition counselling

Follow these 2 steps to get a consultation.

Fill out the registration form ↗

Please complete our REGISTRATION FORM. Registration is only successful after clicking on the confirmation link. You will receive the confirmation link by e-mail. Please also check your spam/junk mail folder.

Please note the following:
  • Once you have completed the registration form, you will receive an e-mail consultation. You can book a face-to-face appointment at step 2.
  • The waiting time for an e-mail consultation is currently around 3 months due to the very high number of enquiries.
  • We can only advise you if you provide us with all the information about your qualification.
  • Please fill in the part of the form relating to your qualifications very carefully and state the full title of your qualification under ‘Degree/Abschluss’ (e.g.: Bachelor in Computer Science).
  • If you would like counselling in a language other than German, please indicate the desired language in the ‘What else would you like to tell us?’ field.

Book a face-to-face appointment ↗

Please use our APPOINTMENT BOOKING SYSTEM to book an additional face-to-face appointment.

Please note the following:
  • We would like to inform you that the last in-person consultation day for this year will take place on December 10, 2024. Next year, we will be available for in-person consultations again starting January 14, 2025.
  • New dates for the coming week are activated every Wednesday morning.
  • Please cancel your appointment if you are unable to attend. You will find a cancellation link in the confirmation email you will receive after booking. This allows others who are waiting for an appointment to receive a spontaneous consultation.
  • The presentation of your diploma certificates during the face-to-face consultation is not neccessary. If you can provide the documents, we will gladly include them in the consultation.
  • You can choose the consultation language in the appointment booking system.
  • Each appointment lasts 30 minutes. If you are late, we will not be able to extend the consultation time.

Our consultation is free of charge and is available in the following languages: Arabic, English, German, Italian and Spanish.

Our counsellors will tell you which recognition process and which reference occupation correspond to your qualifications. You will receive information on the procedure and the necessary documents. The counselling will also include information on funding options for recognition.
